Join us on Dec 31, 2023 as we call for a permanent ceasefire at New Year’s Eve celebrations around the globe
In an effort to stop the ongoing carnage, the Countdown to Truce campaign is calling on citizens from different countries to join in the New Year celebrations around the world and turn the countdown to 2024 into #countdowntoceasefire.
Local actions will be broadcast around the world from Sydney to New York, creating a 24-hour call for a permanent ceasefire.

Project Overview
As we welcome the new year, innocent men, women and children are suffering because of the ongoing war in Gaza. More than 20,000 Palestinians have been killed in the last two months. The situation has become so dire that even journalists, aid workers and UN staff are being targeted en masse. Last week, Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Gueterres, was quoted saying: "More than 130 of my colleagues have already been killed, many with their families. This is the largest single loss of life in the history of our Organization. Some of our staff take their children to work so they know they will live or die together."
In a bid to stop the ongoing massacre, "Countdown 2 Ceasefire" calls upon global citizens to join New Year’s Eve celebrations throughout the world and transform the countdown to 2024 into a #countdown2ceasefire. The local events will be livestreamed as they move across the globe from Sydney all the way to New York, creating a 24 hour call for a permanent ceasefire. Participants are expected to amplify the call using their social media accounts across various platforms using the hashtag "#countdown2ceasefire".
